From the SIVS guidelines
"Historic vehicles—proof of eligibility:
Club membership - You require evidence, at the time of application, of current membership with a Queensland incorporated vehicle club or association to be eligible for this concession. This membership should be maintained while the vehicle is registered under the scheme. Your club can provide evidence of your current membership, which needs to:
- be on club letterhead
- include details of your vehicle (make, model, year and chassis number)
- be signed by a club official"
To join Roma Historical Motor Club Inc.
Your membership will be considered at our next general meeting after receipt of your application if you don't live in the 4455 postcode. If you live within the 4455 postcode, the club requires that you attend the meeting to have your membership considered.
We have three dating officers in Roma and one in each of our chapters who complete the paperwork for SIVS registration. Please email the club, hello@rhmc.org.au and we will pass on your query. Please also allow adequate time for your request to be processed. All our club office bearers are volunteers who have many other commitments, apart from their work for our club.
There have been instances of members being charged too much for their restricted registration. It should be around $230 for the year.
Some people have contacted us and the amount that they were charged was closer to $400. If this happens to you, the problem will most likely be the class for the CTP (Compulsory Third Party).
The sections on your registration should read
CTP - Class 5
Purpose of Use - Private
Concession Type - Special Interest Vehicle
In cases of the incorrect amount being charged, it is most likely the CTP class will still be Class 1.
If you have any difficulty with the processing of your restricted registration application, please contact the club on 0429 452 286 (Ken D).
15/01/24: Please note that if you are changing back from restricted registration to full registration and your registration is not yet due, you will need to contact your CTP insurer first, then when you have paid the extra amount, they will send you a letter to take in to DTMR.
"Impromptu Run" Guidelines for Roma Historical Motor Club Inc. Members
Club members may post an “impromptu run” to the
Roma Historical Motor Club Facebook group, email the club (
hello@rhmc.org.au), phone the President (0429 442 286) or message the
Roma Historical Motor Club Inc. Facebook page or the
Blackall Chapter or
Charleville Chapter's Facebook pages to set an “impromptu” run. This notice for an "impromptu run" must be given to the club at least 48 hours before. Other members will be advised as soon as possible the details of the run, via email, Facebook and the Club Events section on the club website, and where there is time, it will be published in the newsletter.
Please note these runs should be genuine runs, not an excuse to use your vehicle for everyday use purposes. Club members are also encouraged to support club events in the first instance.
